Insured for Wedding
Why is wedding insurance good to have? Because you never know if you would have a crooked vendor who flies by night and fails to serve you on your wedding. If centuries-old banks can collapse overnight, go through mergers and acquisitions, why not bridal salons, photography studios etc? Given our locals’ penchant for bridal packages, little do we know how the terms and conditions really don’t help to cover clients’ asses.
Locally, we used to have NTUC offering couples to insure their weddings, for example, in case, the photographer did not turn up or the rented gown caught fire and so on, NTUC will give a monetary payout. While insurance can never compensate for the spirits, it helps to tide financial times. Unfortunately, right now, no insurer in the local market is offering it anymore. I guess, the lack of publicity and little knowledge the public has of such things attribute to the eventual withdrawal of this product.
Then, yesterday, I came across this travel insurance, MSIG TravelEasy. It has a feature that is relevant for destination bride and groom. It offers insurance of up to S$3,500 on Wedding apparels and accesssories including bridal and ceremonial attire, wedding rings, jewellery and other accessories. While it’s not much coverage, but it definitely comes in handy.
