Golden Globes Ladies (Part II)
While some ladies glowed in white, the red carpet was awashed in colour. There were quite a few pastels which was unusual for an evening event. The sweet colours brought to mind the trend of coloured wedding dresses. It also reminded me of a bride at a typical Singapore Chinese wedding banquet, also an evening to night event. The bride would have 2 or more dress changes throughout the night and the choice of colour was usually red. Perhaps these beautiful pastel gowns might change your mind.
Appropriate for my earlier post, this frothy concoction is part of Reem Acra Bridal Spring 2008 collection. Dyed in mauve to match Oliva Wilde’s icy green eyes, I want to take her home as Barbie!

Chanelling Marilyn is Drew Barrymore in Dior
This is a delicate balance of angelic and sex kitten, which in my definition is what a bride should be on her big day!

Laura Linney is a picture of elegance in Elie Saab
A rare mellow yellow on the red carpet and it works on Asian skin too.

Melissa George in Ice Blue Armani Prive
At first glance, this might be a clean looking gown but the unique bodice details and thigh high split draws one to take a second look.

Elizabeth Banks in J Mendel
Everything from her vintage hairstyle, glittering choker to pale pink gown spells perfection. Any lady would be transformed into a blushing bride in this lovely ruffly number.

January Jones is a modern Grecian Goddess in Versace
Camera lighting played tricks on this gown, making it a brighter crystal blue than it is. However it suits January Jones all the same. This is such a dream with its origami folds and gold piping. Love love love.
Looking at the above options, I wish I hadn’t impulsively bought the first gown I saw. It was a champagne that complimented my skin but if I had the choice again, I would go for a blush pink or steel grey gown. Would you go for a coloured wedding dress?
